Paramount announces one of the most eagerly awaited DVDs – Braveheart

For many DVD fans, August 29 will be one of the most celebrated days in recent history. On that particular day a large number of very prolific titles will be released to the DVD format and we have just been able to get all the details on yet another highly anticipated film that will make its DVD debut on the very same day as we can finally reveal here exclusively!

Paramount Home Video is finally releasing Braveheart on DVD on August 29! It is Mel Gibson’s epic take on the legendary figure of William Wallace who built an army and stood to fight the English invaders of his Scottish homeland.

Ranking as one of the most anticipated DVD releases, the film will come in a 16×9 enhanced widescreen version with a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track in English, as well as English and French Dolby Surround tracks. One of the absolute highlights of the release will be an audio commentary track by director and star Mel Gibson – his first audio commentary ever – and according to sources close to the project, it is supposed to be a most engaging track that will undoubtedly make all fans of the film and the star very happy. The disc will also contain a 28-minute featurette called “Braveheart: A Filmmaker’s Passion” that will take you behind the scenes of the production with behind-the-scenes footage and a number of interviews. The release will be rounded off with an assortment of two of the movie’s theatrical trailers.

Braveheart will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99 when it will be released on August 29!
