Dragonheart: A New Beginning is coming to DVD on August 8

Almost unnoticed by the public eye, Universal Pictures has developed a sequel to their beautiful fantasy adventure “Dragonheart.” Called Dragonheart: A New Beginning, the film is currently readied for release on DVD on August 8. It is a direct-to-video – or should we say direct-to-DVD – release, but nonetheless, Universal Home Video is preparing a very nice package for this film with some interesting added features, that will carry a suggested retail price of $24.98

With Draco gone, this new story revolves around a new and much younger dragon called “Drake,” the son of Draco. While hatching, his egg was rescued and held hidden in a castle. The young dragon was imprisoned in the castle for many years and is finally found by a young man, played by Chris Masterson, who wants to fly on the dragon’s back. The only problem is, Drake can’t fly… yet!

Although not a Collector’s Edition, the disc nonetheless contains a number of exciting bonus materials, such as a “Spotlight On Location” featurette, a Special Effects Documentary, the film’s Trailer, Production Notes and Cast and Crew Biographies.
