Paramount’s July line-up just came in, featuring Angela’s Ashes, Star Trek II and more

We have just received detailed release information from Paramount Home Video regarding their July release line-up. Filling in the last missing pieces in the release of the “Star Trek” movies, Paramount has scheduled the release of Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan for July 11. The DVD will feature a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and feature a 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track in English, as well as optional English and French Dolby Surround tracks. The movie’s original theatrical trailer will be the only extra on the disc, apart from closed-captions in English. “Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan” will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Also scheduled for July 11 is Searching For Bobby Fisher, the true story of prepubescent chess prodigy Josh who refuses to harden himself in order to become a champion like the famous but unlikable Bobby Fisher. The DVD is priced at $29.99 and will contain an anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film with a 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track, as well as optional English and French Dolby Surround tracks.

On July 18, Paramount Home Video will then release Alan Parker’s adaptation of Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir, Angela’s Ashes. The movie will also be presented in a 16×9 enhanced widescreen presentation with an English 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track, as well as optional English and French Dolby Surround tracks. The release will also feature an audio commentary by writer Frank McCourt and director Alan Parker. As additional supplements, the disc will contain a “Behind-The-Scenes” Featurette, exclusive cast and crew Interviews, and two theatrical trailers. This day and date release will also carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Further on the list of releases, slated for July 18 is Where’s Marlowe?, the story of tow filmmakers who plan to shoot a documentary about an LA detective and have no clue just how embroiled in his affairs they will become. Priced at $29.99 the disc will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer, 5.1 Dolby Digital audio and the movie’s theatrical trailer.
