Image to release Phish:Bittersweet Motel theatrically and on home video

Underscoring its intentions to expand its field of operation, Image Entertainment, Inc. today announced that it had entered into an agreement with Bittersweet Films that will see the company distribute Phish: Bittersweet Motel theatrically in all major North American markets beginning this Summer. The deal also gives the company broadcast and home video rights to the program.

Phish is one of the most successful bands in music today and they show no signs of slowing down as they enter the New Millennium. Consisting of Trey Anastasio (guitar, vocals), Page McConnell (keyboards, vocals), Mike Gordon (bass, vocals) and Jon Fishman (percussion, vocals). Phish has sold over 4.5 million albums worldwide, including five Gold Records and one certified Platinum.

Phish: Bittersweet Motel marks the group’s first feature-length motion picture. Filmed over a two year period that saw the group travel throughout the U.S. and Europe, the program was directed by Todd Phillips, a recent recipient of the prestigious Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.
