Warner unveils The Green Mile in June – plus details about Gone With The Wind

The latest news from Warner Home Video show that the forerunner in the DVD format is releasing the Academy-Award-nominated drama The Green Mile In June. Scheduled for release on June 13, this movie, based on a series of novellas by horror-icon Stephen King, the DVD will feature a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer in the movie’s 1.85:1 aspect ratio and a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track. More details are currently unavailable, but will follow soon.

On June 20, Warner Home Video will release the Barry Levinson movie Liberty Heights on DVD, also featuring a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track.

Last week we announced that Warner Home Video will re-release Victor Fleming’s classic epic Gone With The Wind on May 16. Unfortunately it turns out that Warner Home Video is re-releasing the exact same release MGM Home Entertainment had put out in 1998 without any changes. This means that the film will still be presented as a double-sided disc that will force you to flip it over during the movie’s intermission. Sadly, no dual-layer version of the film is in sight, as we and many fans had hoped.
