Columbia TriStar Home Video announces a special edition of Bad Boys

Columbia TriStar Home Video just unveiled details about a special edition of Michael Bay’s actioner Bad Boys starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The film has been digitally restored and will be presented in a new anamorphic widescreen transfer with a 5.1 Channel Dolby Digital audio track.

“Bad Boys” tells the story of Marcus Burnett, played by Martin Lawrence, who is a hen-pecked family man. Mike Lowry (Will Smith) is a foot-loose and fancy-free ladies’ man. Both are Miami policemen, and both have 72 hours to reclaim a consignment of drugs stolen from under their station’s nose. To complicate matters, in order to get the assistance of the sole witness to a murder, they have to pretend to be each other.

This special edition will contain an audio commentary by director Michael Bay and a featurette called “Damage Control”. It uses DVD’s multi-angle capabilities to allow viewers to analyze the breathtaking special effects explosions from the film. But also another documentary called “Making the Boom & Bang in Bad Boys” will be part of the release, as well as the music videos “Shy Gun” by Diana King, “So Many Ways” by Warren G and “Five O Five O” by the 69 Boyz. To round this release off, you will also find the movie’s pulse-pounding score on an isolated track of the disc, as well as selected talent files and trailers.

“Bad Boys” is scheduled for release on June 27 and will carry a suggested retail price of $29.95, so hold on to your hats – it’s going to get just a bit hotter this summer!
