Kinowelt Home Entertainment goes classical

According to an industry article, the video and DVD division of the German independent distributor Kinowelt Home Entertainment, has plans to announce the launch of a new label dedicated to publishing classical music on DVDs worldwide.

The label that will be named Arthaus Musik will publish about 70 classical music titles per year in Germany, including some pop and jazz performances, starting in April 2000. In order to distribute the DVDs worldwide, Arthaus Musik will work with the Hong Kong-based HNH, possibly the largest distributor of classical CDs in the world, according to Kinowelt. The DVDs will be distributed via the same channels as classical CDs.
