Brand new information came in from Columbia TriStar Home Video regarding a special edition of Renny Harlin’s Cliffhanger. On June 16 we will see a re-release of the movie with a number of supplements that will get fans of this action film excited.

In “Cliffhanger”, Sylvester Stallone plays a mountaineer who is forced to match his muscles and wits with ultra-bad guy John Lithgow in a dizzying thrill spectacular. The special edition will feature a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer of the movie and a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track and also contain two separate audio commentaries. The first one will be with director Renny Harlin and the film’s star Sylvester Stallone, while the second one will feature members of the technical crew. The documentary “Stallone On The Edge” will also be part of the disc as well as three deleted scenes with a commentary by Renny Harlin. Two separate Behind-the-scenes featurettes and three storyboard-to-film comparisons are also on the disc, and extensive photo galleries for the special effects and the locations can also be found on this release.

The “Cliffhanger” special edition will carry a suggested retail price of $29.95 when it will be released on June 16.
