We just got exclusive information about this hot upcoming DVD release from Paramount Home Video. The just filled us in on their plans to release Martin Scorcese’s latest film Bringing Out The Dead. The DVD is scheduled for release on May 9 as a day and date release with its VHS counterpart.

Graveyard shift paramedics rely on their sense of comedy to weather the emotional strains suffered in their daily encounters with the dead and dying. New York EMS paramedic Frank Pierce, played by Nicolas Cage, too finds himself surrounded by the injured and the dying. Dwelling in an urban night-world and crumbling under the weight of too many years of saving and losing lives, Frank reaches the brink of spiritual collapse and redemption.

The DVD will feature a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital audio track. As supplements, only the movie’s trailer and behind-the-scenes interviews are planned for this release, carrying a suggested retail price of $29.99
