Studio Depot and American Cinematographer offer Best Shot Films

StudioDepot.com today announced a collaboration with American Cinematographer Magazine to offer online customers many of the films chosen by the publication’s readership as the best-photographed films of all time. The films, in VHS and DVD formats, are being packaged in the form of unique holiday gifts, presented in authentic Kodak film reel cans, which have been propped open and beautifully wrapped in red cellophane and colorful seasonal ribbon.

“We wanted to do something special for those in the community that are both readers of American Cinematographer Magazine and long-time customers of both our online and brick-and-mortar stores, said John Parker, head of Web Development for StudioDepot. So we’ve fashioned individualized gift packs for everyone from the filmmaker to the camera assistant. We feel that the cinematographer as well as the discerning fan will be entertained and enlightened by the videos and DVDs of films that have changed the way we see movies and cinematography.”

Memorable, controversial and visually groundbreaking films such as “Gone With the Wind,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Casablanca,” “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Blade Runner,” “Metropolis,” “Apocalypse Now,” “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Days of Heaven,” “Touch of Evil,” “Grapes of Wrath,” “Schindler’s List,” “The Godfather,” “Nosferatu,” “The Cabinet of Dr. Calgari” and “Raging Bull” are packaged in the specially wrapped Kodak film cans. Included as an added bonus is a copy of the American Cinematographer Magazine’s 80th Anniversary Collector’s Edition, where these films are featured.
