Holiday gifts directly from Francis Ford Coppola

Francis Ford Coppola, five-time Academy Award-winning writer/director and winemaker, is turning his creative talents to the Internet this holiday season. His Napa Valley winery, Niebaum-Coppola, has launched a new Web site that presents a triple bill of holiday gift possibilities. December Web shoppers will also be entered in a contest to win a pair of uniquely Coppola gifts.

To make the holiday season especially sweet, Niebaum-Coppola.com is offering December purchasers a $10 coupon with every $50 purchase beginning in the year 2000. December shoppers will also be automatically entered into the contest to win one of three Niebaum-Coppola gift packages. The three prizes given away, will include: a rare script booklet from “The Godfather, Part III,” signed by Mr. Coppola, Mario Puzo, and Al Pacino, and a just-released “Apocalypse Now” DVD, autographed and produced by Coppola’s American Zoetrope.

Niebaum-Coppola.com, one of the most comprehensive wine destinations on the Internet, offers a far wider range of gift ideas than any other winery in Napa Valley. Oenophiles and their friends can select from among Niebaum-Coppola’s award-winning wines, or purchase all the accessories to create a wine-lover’s gift basket: corkscrews, coasters, decanters, even a book that tells you how to conduct your own wine tasting. The site also features “Coppola Family Kitchen,” the place to purchase the Coppola family’s own Mammarella brand of pastas, organic sauces, extra-virgin olive oil as well as culinary accoutrements and kitchenware.

Visitors can also discover the Writer’s Cafe, offering a French writer’s kit and writing tablets (used by Francis himself), cigars, leather notepads and the Rubicon journal; and Zoetrope: All-Story, Mr. Coppola’s short-story magazine founded in an effort to revive the art of storytelling.
