Columbia TriStar announces Random Hearts and The Suburbans

Columbia TriStar Home Video has just released details about two upcoming DVD releases, scheduled to hit retail on February 29, 2000.

The first on is Random Hearts, starring Harrison Ford under the direction by Sydney Pollack. An act of fate throws two very different people together, Dutch Van Den Broeck, a tough-minded internal affairs cop involved in a high-stakes corruption case, and Kay Chandler, a high-profile congresswoman embroiled in a bitter re-election campaign. They develop an extraordinary relationship, which forces them to confront the truth that threatens to destroy them and discover the strength to triumph over the deception that surrounds them.

“Random Hearts” will come in an anamorphic widescreen presentation and contain a commentary track by director Sydney Pollack, deleted scenes with commentaries, and an isolated music score.

The second release in the list is the day and date release of The Suburbans, a comedy starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Will Ferrel, taking potshots at the 80s.

It’s 1980. The clothes are neon. The hair is BIG. The music is Devo, The Romantics, The Ramones and.The Suburbans. The Suburbans seemed destined for superstardom after their first big hit, but instead they quickly disappeared into musical oblivion.until now. Eighteen years have passed and the members of the band have moved
on with their lives. Former heartthrob Danny is trying to open a “soul club,” and can’t seem to commit to his girlfriend and her perpetually ticking biological clock. Rory is an insurance salesman dating an ex-model with an ex-husband from hell. Mitch is a podiatrist who never really gave up on the band. And Gil is about to be the first of the guys to tie the knot.

“The Suburbans” comes in an anamorphic widescreen presentation with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack.
