Here is the latest information from Anchor Bay Entertainment

Anchor Bay is busy working on their DVD release catalog and we have just been able to find out some more about their future plans. Now that Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo has been released – and sales surpassed Anchor Bay’s expectations – and Even Dwarves Started Small is on its way to completion, the folks at Anchor Bay are now directing their attention to other Herzog films like Aguirre: The Wrath of God, Cobra Verde, Kinski My Best Fiend and Woyzeck.

Anchor Bay is also preparing all three “Ilsa” cult films starring Dyanne Thorne for release on DVD, including Ilsa, The Wicked Warden, Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks and Ilsa, She Wolf Of The SS.

A 138 minute version of the 1984 film Supergirl is also in the making. In order to create this extensive version that is over 20 minutes longer than the original domestic cut, Anchor Bay has to use various prints to prepare all the material. It will be the longest version of the film ever, and Anchor Bay is hopeful, it will make all the fans of the movie very happy!

The folks from Anchor Bay have also laid their eyes on Brigitte Bardot, the French superstar, and are preparing a BB box set, containing four of her films, as well as the documentary “Brigitte Bardot – Her Story” on a fifth disc. The documentary was recently made for French television, and Julie Delpy will do the English narration for it in Anchro Bay’s release. The films in the box set will be Come Dance With Me!, Les Femmes, Naughty Girl and Please Not Now. All of them light comedies with a bit of nudity.

The company is also shipping their two-disc set Django and Django Strikes Again now. The set contains a 24-page booklet with a Django history, covering all Django movies – a must for fans of the films, so look out for it, especially since this release is limited to 15.000 units!
