incite is here – New games magazine hits newsstands today

Computec Media has just launched the first issue of their new lifestyle gaming magazines incite PC Gaming and incite Video Gaming. The company today also launched a first-of-its-kind DVD magazine subscription, incite PC Gaming DVD.

The magazines are attempting to capture a segment of th emarket that no other games magazine is currently covering. Mainstream gamers don’t read the current enthusiast magazines, according to a recent Roper-Starch study. In fact, only sixteen percent of gamers read game enthusiast publications. “incite” will leverage sophisticated design and easy-to-read, in-depth editorial content that appeals to casual gamers, a market which Roper-Starch estimates at 34 million U.S. households.

“incite PC Gaming DVD” complements “incite PC Gaming” by allowing readers to view cinema-style reviews and previews complete with footage that brings the games to life. The “incite PC Gaming DVD” includes nearly 5GB of the hottest demos, plus 45 minutes of incite TV — the world’s first TV show on DVD about PC gaming (games reviews, interviews, tips & tricks, “the making of reports,” etc., all in DVD quality and in Dolby(TM) Surround 5.1 Sound). Readers can experience DVD-quality game footage and comprehensive previews while watching interviews right on their PC or on every DVD movie player.

To make a splash in the market, the magazines are substantuially reduced in price, especially compared to its competitors. “incite Video Gaming” is selling for $0.99, while “incite PC Gaming” is going fro $1.99, including a cover-mounted CD-ROM. Available now is an exclusive “incite PC Gaming DVD” subscription of 12 issues for $49 in the U.S. and $59 in Canada. “incite PC Gaming DVD” is only available by calling 877-3-INCITE (877-346-2483), filling out a subscription ad found in “incite PC Gaming,” or via e-mail at subscribe@computecmedia.com.
