The early Lucy Lawless films are coming to DVD

One of the smaller and relatively new DVD publishers, First Run Features, has just sent some information our way regarding an upcoming title, slated for a November 9 release. All fans of the Warrior Princess Xena will be pleased to hear that “First Run Features” will release the early films of Xena-actress Lucy Lawless.

Before she became a television star, Lucy Lawless starred in two short films from New Zealand, both of which will find its way on this DVD release. Peach, a steamy lesbian film in which Lucy plays a tow-truck driver who seduces a young Maori woman, and Bitter song, her first film role, in which she plays a young nurse who helps a troubled girl recuperate in the hospital.

On the same disc you will find Lavender Limelight a documentary that introduces audiences to a number of lesbian filmmakers, exploring subjects like sexual identity, growing up gay, Hollywood vs. Indie, and others.

The disc will be released on November 9 and will carry a suggested retail price of $29.95.
