Sony Music adds Ricky Martin to their fall line-up, among numerous others

Sony Music just sent us a revised list of titles for the next two months. We will insert these updates in our database for your convenience. However, the list also contained a few new title announcements and re-announcements.

Finally John Denver’s The Wildlife Concert is coming to DVD, almost one year after it’s initial announcement. Sony held the title back for quality issues and preferred to remaster the entire concert for the highest possible quality.

A number of Karajan classical concerts have been added to the line-up for a release on September 21. Here’s the list, Karajan Legacy New Year’s Concert 1988 – Kissin, Karajan Legacy Beethoven Violin Concerto – Mutter, Karajan Legacy Beethoven Sym 2&3 and Karajan Legacy Beethoven Sym 4&5.

Last but by no means least, Sony Music has also added a Ricky Martin DVD to their release line-up. Called Ricky Martin: Video Compilation the disc will also street on September 21.

Sony also supplied some additional infromation on the upcoming release of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. The title will be a major upgrade from the last MGM laser, and hopefully will fulfill the desires of the most ardent Floyd fan. There was a new hi-def transfer struck and it will be presented as anamorphic widescreen on DVD. The video was supervised by Sony Pictures DVD authoring center, the same as all of Columbia TriStar’s discs. There is a DD 5.1 mix, with an additional song “Hey You”, which was cut from the original release. Roger Waters has recorded a commentary track, and there may be additional commentaries by completion. The menus are animated in the style of the original movie. The disc is expected to ship in October.
