Columbia TriStar Home Video bring us the Blue Lagoon and Hard Eight

The folks over at Columbia TriStar Home Video are smoking through release announcements these days, cranking out one announcement after another. Today we have information for yet another two titles for release on DVD on October 5.

A special edition of The Blue Lagoon is coming to DVD on October 5 with audio commentaries by director Randall Kleiser, screenwriter Douglas Day Stewart and Brooke Shields, and another one with director Randall Kleiser and Christopher Atkins. The release will also contain an original featurette, Brooke Shield’s personal photo album and cast biographies. “The Blue Lagoon” will contain a pan & scan version as well as the film’s widescreen version in a 16×9 enhanced presentation with a Dolby Surround soundtrack.

Also set for release on October 5 is a special edition of Hard Eight, a gambling drama in the realms of Reno starring Samuel L. Jackson. The release will contain two separate commentary tracks with the director and various actors and crew members. A deleted scene called “The Kiss” will be part of the release and you will be seeing the Sundance Institute Filmmaker Lab Scenes “The Coffee Shop”, “Jimmy Threatens Sydney” and “The Phone Call” on the disc. “Hard Eight” comes with a pan & scan and anamorphic widescreen transfer and a Dolby surround soundtrack.
