Columbia Records unveils details about Pink Floyd – The Wall

Columbia Records just unveiled details about the long-announced release of Pink Floyd – The Wall on DVD. Although Roger Waters himself had been talking about the release numerous times in the past, details were fuzzy, as was the expected release date, adding to the anticipation surrounding the title to begin with.

Finally the details are here and from the information we have received it sounds like a very promising release, indeed. “The Wall” Deluxe DVD edition will contain a new high definition transfer of the film from the original widescreen interpositive and will contain a remastered 5.1 channel Dolby Digital soundtrack. The release will contain previously unreleased footage, as well as a 25-minute documentary about the making of the film and an exclusive new documentary running 45 minutes called “Retrospective” with interviews with Roger Waters, Gerald Scarfe, Alan Parker, Peter Biziou, Alan Marshall and James Guthrie. A commentary track by Roger Waters and Gerald Scarfe will also be included in the release alongside the film’s original trailer and a gallery of production stills. Presented in a Deluxe DVD packaging, “The Wall” will hit retail in October.
