Bride Of Frankenstein will come to life on DVD in October

Since we first announced Universal’s plans to release their classic horror films on DVD in February we have been flooded with questions and requests. As we now all know Universal Home Video is currently preparing their roll out the Classic Monster Collection one by one on DVD.Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy are coming in late August and September respectively and today we can once again give you an exclusive look at the next title in the series. Part of Universal’s October line-up is James Whale’s undisputed masterpiece Bride Of Frankenstein with Boris Karloff reprising his role as the creature and Else Lanchester as his loving, titular bride. We do not have information about the exact content of the disc yet but we will certainly fill in those pieces as more information comes in. After that, expect “Creature From Black Lagoon” and “The Wolfman” to hit your DVD players either in late October or November.

By releasing their classic monster films, Universal have fulfilled the dreams of many lovers of classic horror films and especially their timing to release the films towards Halloween is quite cunning. It almost makes you keep the sealed disc until the night of the ghosts and witches to re-experience these horror films on DVD for the very first time.

Also as part of Universal’s October line-up, expect Eddie Murphy’s Life to hit DVD.
