National Geographic’s Mysteries of Egypt is now available on DVD

SlingShot Entertainment just informed us that their title Mysteries Of Egypt is now available on DVD. The disc is the first National Geographic’s First IMAX® Film and is hosted by actor Omar Sharif. It is a film that ressurrects ancient Egypt and unlocks many of the mysteries surrounding the culture.

Receiving exclusive access to the Nile Valley, National Geographic captures breathtaking aerial shots of the pyramids and gives the audience intimate views of the pharaohs’ treasures. Rush over the Nile the world’s longest river, soar over the great pyramids of Giza, cross the deathly quiet Valley of the Kings and descend into the shadowy chambers of the sacred tomb of King Tutankhamun.

To make events more tangible, the film also transports the viewer to the time when the great pyramids were built, re-creating the scenes as archaeologists now believe they occurred. The process involved in preparing a pharaoh’s body for eternal life is also reenacted, along with the ritual – the films engages the viewer as Egyptians ready the body of the teenage pharaoh King Tut and carry it into his dark tomb.

“Mysteries of Egypt” contains 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks in English, French, Spanish and German.
