Sonic Solutions today redefined the DVD authoring landscape by announcing at the National
Association of Broadcasters Convention (NAB) a revolutionary new DVD-Video authoring tool for the Windows platform.
For the first time, DVD publishing is accessible to everyone with access to a Windows PC. Priced at only $499, Sonic DVDit! gives video professionals, graphic designers, artists and
video enthusiasts the power to create stunning interactive content on their PC and publish it on DVD-Video, Video-CD or the Web.
“Sonic DVDit! is the easiest way to publish on DVD,” said James Manning, DVDit! Product Manager at Sonic Solutions. “With more than ten million DVD players and
DVD-equipped PCs now in the market, DVD is fast becoming the distribution media of choice for high-quality video and audio. DVDit! moves DVD production out of the post house and into your house, for the first time.”
DVDit! combines the professional power of Sonic’s DVD-Video HyperMux(TM) multiplexing technology and high-quality MPEG-2 video transcoder(TM) with a simple user interface. Now, creating DVD content is as easy as 1-2-3:
1. Capture and edit digital video in QuickTime, AVI, MPEG-2 or DV
2. Use DVDit! to create menus, link video clips and create
interactivity, with drag-and-drop simplicity.
3. With a single click, save the production in a variety of output
formats: DVD, Video CD, PC Runtime or Online DVD(TM) web pages.
DVDit! creates interactive DVD Video files that can be written to a DVD-R or DVD-RW recorder for playback on consumer DVD-Video players. Or it can be used to create a Video CD that can be recorded on a low-cost CD-R and played back on a wide variety of set-top and PC-based players. DVD-Video files can also be incorporated in DVD-ROM productions, Online DVD web pages or even Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
