“You’ve Got Mail” will find its way to the streets on May 4

Warner Home Video just announced the romantic comedy blockbuster You’ve Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan for release on DVD on May 4, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Interestingly “You’ve Got Mail” will be the first Warner Home Video DVD release featuring specialized DVD-ROM content which will allow romantic comedy buffs to compare many of the film’s scenes with those of earlier classics that inspired them. It will also allow you to enter dedicated chat rooms on the Internet and give you access to web greeting cards and much more.

“You’ve Got Mail” will be a very content rich release, including interviews, commentaries and other special features. One of the new features will be production call sheets, enabling users to learn how specific scenes were arranged before taking them directly to these scenes in the movie. The disc will also contain the HBO First Look Special: “A Conversation with Nora Ephron,” an interactive map of New York’s Upper West Side with selectable clips enabling viewers to retrace the steps of the movie’s characters, a music-only track option and trailers for the classic romantic comedies “The Shop Around the Corner” and “In the Good Old Summertime,” which inspired the film.

The disc will come at a suggested retail rpice of $24.98 containing a 16×9 enhanced widescreen presentation of the film.
