Universal brings the pig to town in May

Universal Home Video just announced the return of Babe, the lovable orcine hero with a heart of gold in Babe: Pig In The City on May 4. Coming on a dual-layer DVD at a suggested retail price of $29.98, the disc will contain a 16×9 enhanced widescreen transfer and a pan&scan version of the film, as well as a specially designed screen saver for DVD-ROM owners. The disc will contain 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks in English and French.

In “Babe: Pig In The City”, Babe accompanies his human owner, Mrs. Hoggett, to a storybook city in a faraway land for a paid personal appearance to save Farmer Hoggett’s farm. An unpredictable series of mishaps leads to encounters with an incredible assortment of new animal friends who discover something previously unknown to city dwellers: How a kind and steady heart can heal a sorry world.
