Big Entertainment to offer over 1000 Star Wars products

BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 18 — bige.com, a division of Big
Entertainment (Nasdaq: BIGE), announced today that its e-commerce Web site will be offering over 1,000 Star Wars(TM) products as well as a
unique, browsable exclusive Star Wars database. In addition to editorial
material, this database will include extensive video material and content
feeds and is scheduled to launch on May 1st.

Current plans are for the browsable database to contain a complete
annotated bibliography (with plot synopses, descriptions, and excerpts) of the
various Star Wars books and movies; essays, commentaries, and interviews with
various Star Wars personalities, including the authors of the books, cast and
crew members; listings of character backgrounds; a “Making of…” section,
with behind-the-scene stories about the creation of each movie; and searchable
compilations of such categories as “Star Wars Heroes” and “Star Wars
Villains.”

This database is being created by Larry Segriff and Martin H. Greenberg,
both of BigE. Larry Segriff is a recognized science fiction author and Martin
Greenberg, widely regarded as the leading anthologist in trade publishing, has
edited over 700 books. Both have worked closely with the top two dozen
authors of Star Wars novels.

“We are enormously excited about this e-commerce and editorial Star Wars
project,” stated Mitchell Rubenstein, Chairman and CEO of Big Entertainment.
“We seek to create a very proactive experience for our users where, within one
location, they can find one of the largest and most extensive areas on the Web
dedicated to Star Wars. Plans are for extensive online video feeds to include
movie trailers, interviews, and coverage of the premier of the next Star Wars
film, Star Wars Episode One, provided by hollywood.com as well as over 1,000
separate items of merchandise based both on the new Star Wars film and on the
classic Star Wars trilogy.”
