In yesterday’s issue of the computing magazine Infoworld there is an article about Netflix’s organization of their databases to allow for smooth operations. Netflix’s CIO Eric Meyer is answering questions how the company decided upon several off-the-shelf software packages to create the extensive database that tracks all of Netflix’s operations. It manages the inventory, financials, tracking, late charges, their website and more.
The article also hints at Netflix’s stunning success, indicating that ever since the company’s opening in April last year, the traffic and business has been growing tenfold. We have been able to even find a link to the article on Infoworld’s own website. Click here if you’re interested in more details and want to take a look at the entire article.
