February is thriller month for MGM – Ronin is hitting hard

MGM Home Entertainment just unveiled their February DVD line-up, all scheduled for
release on February 23. It is a hard hitting thriller month with a series of
fine Frankenheimer films.

Leading the pack is the day&date release of Ronin, John Frankenheimer’s
smash hit thriller starring Robert DeNiro. The disc will contain a
never-before-seen alternate ending and an audio commentary track with director
John Frankenheimer. To make things even better, MGM also release the
Frankenheimer films The Holcroft Covenant and The Train on DVD
as part of this line-up, also featuring audio commentary tracks with the director.
As a special treat, “The Train” will also contain a music-only track of the film’s
Oscar-winning score by Maurice Jarre.

If this sounds good to you, things can only get better – and they do. Also coming on
February 23 is The Thomas Crown Affair starring Steve McQueen with an
audio commentary by director Norman Jewison and The Killer Elite. February
also sees a re-packaged re-releasee of the Frank Sinatra classic The
Manchurian Candidate
in an Amaray case with an 8-page booklet.
