Universal Home Video have just announced a correction of their mistakingly incorrect announcement
of their brand new DVD release of “Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas”. The title had been announced
to contain a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital soundtrack, when the disc in fact contains
a Dolby Digital 2.0 channel audio track, directly derived from the film’s theatrical DTS 2.0
According to Universal Home Video, “Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas” has never been released theatrically with a 5.1
channel mix of the audio, which is the reason why it is also not available for
use on either the LaserDisc or DVD editions.
