“Dr. Dobb’s Journal” touches on DVD

If you are a programmer and interested in some of the more in-depth details about how to write software for DVD, the current issue (July 1998) of “Dr. Dobb’s Journal” has a nice article describing the boot up sequence of DVD Video players, the structure of the data blocks and some code snippets about writing code for region coding and parental lockout. Nothing spectacular but definitely worth a look if you intent to write DVD code at some point or another. The issue also contains an interesting interview with Industial Light & Magic’s graphics programming guru John Knoll.
