MGM put James Bond on hold

MGM Home Video have put all James Bond releases, except the brand-new “Tomorrow Never Dies”, on moratorium. All available Bond titles will disappear from stores on VHS and DVD very soon, as MGM intent to lock the titles up until late 1999 when the next theatrical James Bond movie is being released. So, if you want to get your hands on one of the James Bond DVDs, you better hurry and talk to your store or you might have to wait for a long time. This move, which is comparable to Disney’s limited time releases of their animated classics, is supposed to heighten consumer anticipation for the releases and raise the overall profile of the line of James Bond movies.
