The Hundred Acre Wood is once again the setting for enchanted fun and adventure as The Tigger Movie bounds onto VHS and DVD on “Tigger-ific Tuesday, ” Aug. 22, 2000, from Walt Disney Home Video. Starring the one-and-only, bouncy, trouncy Tigger and his friends, this all-new animated feature is the touching story of Tigger’s search for his Tigger Family. Looking for the most “gigantical, stripedy family tree around,” Tigger ultimately learns the most important lesson — that families come in all shapes and sizes and that he’s been surrounded by his “true” family all along.

Featuring top-quality Disney animation, and wonderful, original music from the legendary Sherman Brothers, “The Tigger Movie” also marks Disney’s first Winnie The Pooh DVD, and is collectibly priced at $24.99 for VHS and $29.99 (S.R.P.) for DVD. In “The Tigger Movie,” the ever-exuberant Tigger decides that being the one and only can be kind of lonely. Although he has wonderful friends, Tigger begins thinking that there must be other tiggers somewhere out there. This thought leads him on an amazing journey in search of other tiggers, while Tigger’s pals try to cheer him up by masquerading as his family.

When Tigger appears lost, Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Roo, Owl, Kanga, Eeyore and Christopher Robin become concerned and form a search party to find him. In the end, Tigger’s heart leads him home, and he comes to realize that his family has always been with him — those friends who love and care for him.

Helping to make Tigger’s return such a special event are six tigger-ific new songs by the famed musical duo of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The two-time Academy Award®-winning songwriting siblings (Best Song, “Chim-Chim-Cheree” 1964, and Best Score, 1964, both from “Mary Poppins“”) have been responsible for many memorable Disney hits, including “Winnie The Pooh” and
“It’s a Small World.”

Adding to the excitement, the songwriters have collaborated with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins for the delightful and emotion-filled end-credit ballad, “Your Heart Will Lead You Home.” Harry Gregson-Williams captured the varied moods and whimsy of the film’s adventures with his thrilling score. Putting the beloved bounce in Tigger’s vocal performance, and also providing the voice of Pooh, is versatile voiceover actor Jim Cummings, who first voiced Pooh in 1987.

“The Tigger Movie’s” DVD version’s additional highlights include a storybook, trivia game, sing-along songs, a “Build-Your-Own-Family-Tree” Game, and behind-the-scenes interviews with the Sherman Brothers and Cummings.
