Anchor Bay Entertainment acquires a series of movies for release in 2001

We have just received information from Anchor Bay Entertainment that the studio has acquired the rights for the Stuart Gordon classic Re-Animator. Previously released through Elite Entertainment, the disc has been out of print for the better part of the past years and very hard to get. Now, Anchor Bay has plans to re-release the movie in 2001. Exact details about the contents of the release are yet to be determined.

In recent developments, Anchor Bay has also been able to secure the DVD rights for the 1981 movie Mad Man, starring Dawn Of The Dead’s Gaylen Ross, as well as the Christopher Lee classic, The Wicker Man.

The Monte Hellman films The Cockfighter and Iguana have also been acquired together with Albert Pyun’s The Sword and the Sorceror and Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind. All these films will be released sometime in 2001 if things go according to plan.
