Coco Before Chanel will arrive in February

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has added Anne Fontaine’s Coco Before Chanel to their line-up, bringing the French production to DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in February.

Audrey Tautou (The Da Vinci Code, Amélie) shines in this intriguing portrait of the early life of Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, the orphan who would build a fashion empire and be known universally by her nickname, Coco. She journeys from a mundane seamstress job to boisterous cabarets to the opulent French countryside, possessing little more than her unwavering determination, unique style and visionary talent. Also starring Benoît Poelvoorde (In His Hands) and Alessandro Nivola (Junebug). Featuring lush settings and stunning costume design, “Coco Before Chanel” is the gripping and dramatic story of an icon who defied convention and defined the modern woman.

The DVD version features an anamorphic widescreen transfer with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio in the film’s original French language. As extras you will find a Comentary Track with Writer/Director Anne Fontaine on the disc, as well as the Making Of Featurette La Rencontre (The Meeting)” and a Historical Reconstruction. Also included is Walking the Red Carpet: From Los Angeles to New York.

The Blu-Ray version sports a 1080p high definition transfer with high definition audio in Parisienne French also, and will include the same bonus materials as the DVD version – though presented here in high definition.

“Coco Before Chanel” will carry a $28.96 price tag on DVD and $34.95 on Blu-Ray when it arrives in stores on February 16.
