Neon Genesis Evangelion comes to a close

Anime fans should be pleased to hear that the popular animated series Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death And Rebirth will be almost completely on DVD this summer when Warner Music releases the second to last installment of the series in July.

At the dawn of the new millennium, mankind has awakened a threat unlike any faced before – the Angels. Conventional weapons are useless against them. They can only be stopped by means of the Evangelions – bio-engineered vessels born from the Angels’ own technology. But this forbidden knowledge is also the key to bringing about a startling new genesis for the human race. Placed in the hands of three young pilots, the final fate of humanity resting upon their shoulders, the Evas are the world’s last hope.

The video on the new DVD will be available in non-anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio mixes in both English and Japanese with optional English subtitles. An audio commentary, the original Japanese trailer the “End of Evangelion” preview, Japanese production credits, a photo gallery, an in-depth index of characters and something called Mokuji Interactive Information will be included on the disc.

If you want to be one step closer to completing that set, pick up Death and Rebirth for $29.95 on July 30th.
