Certainly you have heard by now that as a result of a diving accident. Stabbed in the chest by a large sting ray while shooting footage for a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef, this was not one of his daredevil stunts gone-awry but interestingly enough, a pure It is always painful to see people go at such a young age but seeing someone as iconic as the Croc Hunter pass away in the blink of an eye is something you just can't wrap your mind around easily. and with his dedication, enthusiasm and energy he made sure that people look at a variety of animals in a different way. Helping to protect species like Crocodiles, Spider, Snakes, Lizards and other animals with an extremely high Eeek-factor or who areflat out dangerous, he took on a big challenge and succeeded all the way. Steve Irwin will be sorely missed by all of us and our hearts go out to his wife Terri and their children during this hard time.

At least for once we agree on one thing, Dave. No hard feelings...
I feel exactly the way you do. Steve always felt so invincible and then to suddenly lose him in a freak accident like this is unbelievable.
Thank you for everything you did, Steve! We love you!

STEVE IRWIN: I was truly heartbroken by the news this week regarding the untimely death of CROCODILE HUNTER "Steve Irwin" by a one-in-a-million chance freak accident involving a sting-ray. Reportedly, there have ever been only 17 such death ecounters EVER recorded! My deepest condolences go to Mr. Irwin's family (his wonderful wife/explorer TERRI and his two children: daughter BINDI & recently born BOB), his lifelong friend/co-worker WES, his fellow associates at AUSTRALIA ZOO, DISCOVERY CHANNEL and to the millions of fans and friends that supported and adored STEVE. It is indeed strange how GOD chooses to take those certain individuals who indeed have offered so much to the world by sharing his love and passion of the world around us - devoting his life to the love of his profession and to family of man. No further words can be offered - he was a true family man - he was one of my most favorite personalities and I am at a loss to continue.
