Top Gun enters the Danger Zone

Top Gun will finally make it to Blu-Ray Disc courtesy of Paramount Home Entertainment. The disc had previously been announced but pulled from release scheduled after the HD-DVD camp signed an exclusivity deal with Paramount last year. Finally wrongs are being righted and the disc can be yours this summer.

Top Gun takes a look at the danger and excitement that awaits every pilot at the Navy’s prestigious fighter weapons school. Tom Cruise is superb as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a daring young flyer who’s out to become the best of the best. And Kelly McGillis sizzles as the civilian instructor who teaches Maverick a few things you can’t learn in a classroom.

Featuring a 1080p high definition transfer and a DTS 6.1 channel audio track, the release also contains a good number of solid extras, suc has a Commentary Track with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott, co-screenwriter Jack Epps, Jr., and naval experts. Also included is the 6-part Featurette“Danger Zone: The Making Of Top Gun”. Further Multi-Angle Storyboards with optional commentary by director Tony Scott are included as well as a 4-part Vintage Gallery.
