The Ghost of Oscar Past comes from Columbia TriStar

Two great films from the 1960s are coming to DVD in February from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment, the Academy Award winner for Best Picture A Man for All Seasons and the nominee for Best Picture The Guns of Navarone.

The adaptation of Robert Bolt’s play “A Man for All Seasons” about Sir Thomas More, a Catholic statesman in England who rebelled against Henry VIII’s self-proclaimed status as the head of the Church of England and paid for his religious beliefs by having his head exhibited on London Bridge.

The disc will contain no features, it will be presented in both fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen.

In “The Guns of Navarone”Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn and David Niven are Allied saboteurs assigned an impossible mission: infiltrate an impregnable Nazi-held island and destroy the two enormous long-range field guns that prevent the rescue of 2,000 trapped British soldiers.

The disc will come in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 with a director’s audio commentary, the retrospective documentary: “Memories of Navarone” and four featurettes.

Both titles will be available on February 10th with prices TBA.
